The British tuner, Project Kahn, has given the compact electric car Fiat 500e a visually striking appearance. This is a feature that many enthusiasts would have desired in the Abarth 500e, a subsidiary of Fiat set to launch in 2023.
The Fiat 500e is undeniably one of the best-selling small electric cars on the market. Its successful retro design appeals to a wide range of tastes, but it falls short of providing a sporty look. To address this gap in the market before the release of the Abarth 500e, Project Kahn offers a body kit called Designio for the existing 500e or for those who prefer not to wait.
The Designio body kit includes several modifications. The front of the car features a visually appealing radiator grille that mimics the appearance of a traditional open grille, despite being closed. The front apron is enhanced with a three-part spoiler and additional side air intakes. The new bonnet design removes the upper portion of the headlights, resulting in a more aggressive look for the Fiat. The rear of the car is equipped with a powerful diffuser attachment, adding to its sporty appeal.
Furthermore, the car is fitted with 7.5×18-inch light-alloy rims in a four-twin-spoke design, paired with wide tires. To enhance the vehicle’s stance and handling, Project Kahn installs shorter sport springs from H&R, which lower the car’s body by 30 millimeters at the front and 25 millimeters at the rear.
It’s worth noting that Project Kahn does not modify the Fiat 500e’s electric drivetrain. The advantage in terms of performance remains with the forthcoming Abarth 500e. However, Project Kahn offers interior customization options.
The car can be fitted with a flat-bottomed sports steering wheel featuring a carbon rim and leather inserts, which adds a visually appealing touch. Additionally, customers can select from various colors of vegan full leather interiors and have Designio embroidery motifs added to the backrests. Alcantara upholstery is also available as an optional feature.
In summary, Project Kahn provides a sporty appearance upgrade for the Fiat 500e through their Designio body kit. While they do not modify the electric drive technology, their modifications enhance the car’s aesthetics and offer customization options for the interior. However, the upcoming Abarth 500e from Fiat is expected to offer superior performance compared to the modified 500e by Project Kahn.
