Hyundai has introduced a refresh for the i10, a small car model, with several visual changes both on the exterior and interior. Alongside the aesthetic updates, the car series now offers enhanced digital features and safety. The base price of the i10 has increased by approximately 1,200 euros.
After a production period of over three and a half years, Hyundai has undertaken a refresh of the i10 for the 2023 model year. The design of the small car has undergone the customary retouching. Notable exterior changes include new interior headlights and rear lights that showcase a new LED light signature. The daytime running lights, which were previously arranged in a circular frame, now occupy four elements of the honeycomb insert in the radiator grille.
Furthermore, the i10 features redesigned 15-inch light-alloy wheels and two additional paint finishes—Lumen Gray and Meta Blue—adding up to a total of nine color options. The sportier N Line version of the Hyundai i10 can be identified by its red body accents, modified bumpers, and 16-inch wheels with a unique design. The N Line also features distinct daytime running lights with two horizontally aligned LED trios.
The interior of the i10 has also received updates. The seats and seams now feature purple accents, as do the air vents. The steering wheel and the lower part of the center console have gray accents with a purple gloss. Going forward, blue ambient lighting will illuminate the front footwells. In the i10 N Line, the color scheme extends to the exterior with red lines and stitching on the seats.
Following the facelift, the Hyundai i10 now comes equipped with digital instruments, featuring a 4.2-inch display as a standard feature. The car is equipped with USB-C ports in the front and rear, and the E-Call emergency call system has been improved. Map updates for the navigation system can now be performed “over the air.” The i10 also offers an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the refreshed Bluelink telematics function. Smartphones can be wirelessly charged and integrated via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The i10 has also received upgrades to its safety features. The automatic emergency brake assistant now recognizes cyclists and the lane-following assistant is capable of actively intervening in the steering. Additionally, if a person or animal is left in the car when the occupant exits, an occupant alarm will sound loud.
In terms of the available engines, customers can choose between the 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine with 67 horsepower and the 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine with 84 horsepower. Both engines are available with either a manual or an automated five-speed manual transmission. The 1.0-liter turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with 100 horsepower is exclusively reserved for the N-Line version.
Production of the new i10 will commence in April 2023 at Hyundai’s Izmit plant in Turkey, with the refreshed model set to arrive at dealerships in the summer. Orders for the refreshed i10 can be placed starting from the end of April 2023. Prices for the i10 start at 15,990 euros for the i10 1.0 Select, representing an increase compared to the previous model’s starting price of 14,785 euros.
The trend equipment variant, equipped with a three-cylinder engine, starts at a minimum of 18,450 euros. The i10 Prime, available only with the 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine, is priced at 20,990 euros. The top model of the series, the i10 N Line, features a sportier design and enhanced features and is listed with a starting price of at least 22,190 euros.
To summarize, Hyundai has refreshed the i10, implementing the usual visual changes inside and out. Moreover, the small car series now offers increased digital features and improved safety. However, there have been no changes to the available engines. Consequently, the prices for the i10 have increased by a minimum of approximately 1,200 euros.
