The Kia Rio 1.0 T-GDI 120 GT-Line is often underestimated due to its inconspicuous appearance, even in its sportier GT-Line variant. However, since the 2020 facelift, the Rio has undergone several improvements, including a more extensive set of assistants and modernized infotainment.

One notable enhancement is the mild hybridization of the drive system, featuring a 48-volt electric power plant with a belt starter generator and a lithium-ion battery. This hybrid system allows for engine coasting while the battery powers the onboard electronics through recuperation.
